Bradford Hospitals’ Charity is proud to fund ‘Baggins the Bear and his hospital journey’ for children undergoing elective surgery at Bradford Teaching Hospitals.
In recent years, there has been an increased awareness of perioperative stress in children undergoing anaesthesia. It is estimated that 50-75% of children develop significant anxiety before their surgery.
Baggins the Bear and his supporting products are designed to distract and relax a child before, during and after anaesthesia. The collection consists of a story and activity book, poster, bravery certificate and a video which animates the story book.
Thank you for donating to our Baggins the Bear Fund, which will allow us to continue purchasing bears for children undergoing surgery in the future.
